YMCA National Eco-Heroes Training

After three enriching days of learning, collaboration, and action, the National Eco-Heroes Training has successfully concluded at the YMCA of Albay, a gathering that ignited passion and purpose in the hearts of young environmental advocates.

Held from April 22–24, 2025, the training brought together youth leaders from various local YMCAs across the Philippines and international delegates from Sao Hin, Chiangmai YMCA, in celebration of Earth Day. This convergence of minds and cultures created a vibrant space to explore critical environmental challenges and to build shared solutions rooted in solidarity and action.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in transformative sessions on climate change awareness, sustainability practices, and environmental leadership. Insights from distinguished resource persons — including an expert from PAG-ASA — deepened their understanding of the climate crisis and the urgent call to act now.

One of the highlights of the training was the coral planting activity held in partnership with ICRM Legazpi. This hands-on effort allowed youth to take part in tangible ecosystem restoration, contributing directly to the protection of marine biodiversity in the Bicol region.

Beyond knowledge and action, the training cultivated friendships, inspired purpose-driven leadership, and affirmed the YMCA’s commitment to Vision 2030 — empowering youth to become changemakers for a just, sustainable, and inclusive world.

To all our Eco-Heroes: thank you for your energy, commitment, and unwavering dedication to caring for our planet. Your voices matter, your actions count, and your leadership will shape a greener future.

This is just the beginning — and the Earth is in good hands. 🌱🌊✨
